Color of the Year 2015
Every year, at the beginning of December, the world awaits the big reveal: Pantone Institute's Color of the Year announcement. This past December, people tweeted and retweeted, Marsala!
This color made peek-a-boo appearances in 2014, and now as a strong presence in our daily lives. Just like last year, this year's color has a striking resemblance to wine. Marsala is similar to a red-brown wine that would be mature and healthy. With that being said, marsala embodies sophistication and a natural earthiness.
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute perfectly stated, "Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to it's embracing warmth." (More on Marsala)
Have you noticed a marsala rug within Interior Design Magazine, seen the bold and beautiful marsala dresses strut the red carpets, or maybe caught a glimpse of the marsala lip color your friend has? It is everywhere, and this is one color you will not be escaping this year.
Designers, in all industries, look to Pantone as a vital tool in creating their products.
